Lava Ridges is a community of 200 parcels situated in north east Bend built by Pahlisch Homes. The houses were built between 2004-2018 and range from 1450 square feet to 3500 square feet. Lot sizes are from 4,300 square feet to 11,500 square feet. There is an HOA, managed by Aperion Management Group, with dues from $90-$100 a month. HOA dues cover landscaping of front yards and common spaces as well as maintenance of the pool and clubhouse. The CC&R’s prohibit parking of travel trailers, boats, and such vehicles but some of the homes have 3 car garages to get around that. Many of the homes in Lava Ridges back up to 1 of 3 Lava Ridges Nature Areas or to the canal that runs north and south along the western edge of the subdivision.

There is an abundance of activities to do in the Lava Ridges area. The community backs up to a canal that is followed by the Pilot Butte Canal trail system. There are miles of other canal trails that are easily accessed a short distance away as well. Across Purcell Blvd to the east is Ponderosa Elementary School and the 159-acre Pine Nursery Park. Pine Nursery Park has massive expanses of open green spaces with walking trails all around the park and through it. There’s a 14 acre off leash dog park that is split into small and large breeds. There are multiple soccer fields, baseball and softball fields, as well as pickle ball and volley ball courts. There’s also a disc golf course and even a fishing pond. There’s a nice playground for the kids next to a covered pavilion space with multiple tables and public bathrooms.

The Bend Lapine School District covers the public schools in Bend. Ponderosa Elementary School, Sky View Middle School, and Mountain View High School are within the district’s boundaries for the children living in Lava Ridges.

The recent completion of 3 roundabouts and the addition of the Empire Ave extension connecting the area to 27^th street has made getting around to other parts of Bend much more convenient than it was when the subdivision was first built. Within minutes you can get to the Cascade Villages Shopping centers where there is a Food 4 Less, Trader Joes, Dick’s Sporting Goods and numerous other clothing and apparel shops as well as restaurants. North of Cascade Villages you have a Target, Lowes, Home Depot and other popular big box stores. Across from there is the Robal Road Village shopping area. A short drive to the east and you can get to The Forum Shopping Center which has a Costco, Whole Foods, Safeway and a large number of other stores and eateries.
